Radio Appearances: Sundays, 5/13 and 5/20

THE SHOW: "This Sunday" airs weekly, and is a 30-minute "closer look at issues of the day, focusing on local people and organizations."

Sunday May 13, 6:30pm

Beth Boisvert, Cornell Natural Resources graduate student: Beth studies the impact of dams on trout fisheries.

Beth will be interviewed by Marissa Weiss, Cornell Ecology graduate student, studying forest ecology in the northeastern US.


Crystal Powers, Cornell Biological and Environmental Engineering graduate student: Crystal studies how to use wastes such as cow manure to generate energy.

Crystal will be interviewed by Meagan Schipanski, Cornell Horticulture graduate student, studying the impacts of different agricultural practices on soil fertility in upstate NY.



Sunday May 20, 6:30pm

Tim Vadas, Cornell Biological and Environmental Engineering graduate student: Tim calculated a carbon dioxide budget for Tompkins County, and researched various ways to reduce emissions of the heat-trapping gas.

Tim will be interviewed by Dana Warren, Cornell Natural Resources graduate student, studying stream ecology in the northeastern US.


Julie Major, Cornell Crop and Soil Science graduate student: Julie studies the role of charcoal in soil fertility in Colombia.

Julie will be interviewed by Rebecca French, Cornell Crop and Soil Science graduate student studying nanotechnology.
